Lisa Bisbee began Day 1 of this En Plein Air painting last August 2011 on a hot summer Saturday morning from 10am to Noon in front of the old Baxter building, Studio 323 on Pollock Street in New Bern, North Carolina. Before the hurricane hit the Carolinas, the streetlamps were decorated with New Bern flags in ol' European fashion. When the hurricane hit, the flags were removed for safekeeping and stored over the winter. Finally, Lisa could continue the transformation of the painting as the re-appeared this March 2012 decorating the downtown area.
